The California Coast

In April of last year I was dreaming up and designing the first collection for Hannah Childs Lifestyle. There's something about this time of year that sparks so much abundance. The longer days, the filter of the sun as it rises in the morning, and the way nature feels like it's bursting with color and sound. I've always been inspired by the outdoors; the vibrancy of rich pigments, unique textures, and the melody of the elements and animals ignite so many of our creative ideas, and bring us back to our sense of self. This inner wisdom and commitment to honoring my truth and self confidence was the source for creating the mission of the HCL line.
As a Santa Barbara native, I am committed to ease, comfort and functionality in my style. While I love the concept of putting on a fabulous dress and heels, I don't fully feel like myself. I love the wearability of a cozy sweater layered over a tee or polo, with a pair of high rise jeans.

I wanted the Spring 2019 collection to represent the HCL line in it's truest form: classic styles with colors that are season-less, and easy to mix and match with each other, as well as existing items in our closets. You'll find a plethora of neutrals (black, shades of gray, navy, and camel) as well as light blues, pinks and purples that I took inspiration from on my sunrise beach runs.

As an avid equestrian since age 5, I've grown up watching the trends of fashion in our sport and I always come back to loving the time-honored simplicity of a classic v neck and polo, and the seamless and stylish layering that they allow. I also wanted to incorporate modern and functional elements to allow for peak performance, while looking and feeling our best.

Our sweaters are made from a Merino blend that is moisture wicking, and machine washable. Our shirts are made from ultra soft tech fabric that has UPF protection, and anti-microbial (aka no stink!) and moisture wicking properties.

I want to personally thank all of you who have supported this journey thus far. Whether you've purchased something from the line, sent product feedback, or told your friends, thank you.

xx, Hannah
